While shortened to objective 18 episodes due to the writer’s strike, season three was the strongest yet for Ghost Whisperer. The show’s writers made it a goal to build ghosts that were more gross but also that had more character. Rather than standalone episodes that were about crossing a spirit into the light, we got more episodes with continuing narrative arcs and Melinda discovered that a lot of ghosts simply refused to nefarious over.

“Bringing the Spirits to Life” (11:30) This featurette looks at the development of season three’s ghosts and how they were personalized and made more believable. We also net behind-the-scenes peeks at both the special and visual effects for the season.

“Payne’s World” (7:07) is a short featurette on Jay Mohr’s flippant character Professor Rick Payne. Mohr will be leaving the reveal to star in his hold sitcom and his comedy relief will be missed.

8 webisodes of the “Other Side II) webseries are included as well as a 2:03 spirited short that is designed to bridge seasons two and three.

“Interactive Mash-up” is really for kids and it allows you to prefer various options including characters and music to perform your contain spooky scene with sound and music.

I am a fan of this prove. But the more I watched the demonstrate, the more bored I became. It’s almost the same theme on every episode, and it was fair too repetitive for my taste. As the weeks passed, I watched the prove less and less, until I completely passed on season two altogether. Stuck visiting family over the holidays, I grabbed the season three boxed status and watched a few episodes. The third season of Ghost Whisperer comes with a few unusual surprises: spookier ghosts, more storylines centered on the afterlife and further character development. I also like the addition of Jay Mohr to the cast, adding more pizzazz and racy twists on the point to.

The DVD comes packed with a few interviews and the recount quality is quite great. Jennifer-Love Hewitt, who stars and produces the reveal, looks large with the extra weight (I assume the press took her weight win scheme out of proportion) and David Conrad is detached heavenly. He and Hewitt have mammoth on-screen chemistry and are totally believable as a young married couple working around his perilous job as a paramedic and her modern “gift.” The episodes are touching, of course, especially one centered on a tortured war soldier and the ghosts that haunt him. All in all, I enjoyed Ghost Whisperer, Season Three, and I will witness if I can survey the fourth season, which is currently on the air.

I really enjoyed watching this film I did not know as a kid. It has no mighty action compared with other Hammer entries around this time (Fright of Dracula, Curse of Frankenstein) . However, the film is really ample at a more philosophical side as it deals with the clear and negative considerations of achieving eternal life. These two sides are illustrated by a partneship of two fellow scientists. On top of this you gather the character played by the astronomical Christopher Lee. This last aspect makes worth enough to win a copy of this DVD release. Except for the first 3 min or so, the digital transfer is elegant honorable. The film is cessation captioned in English and no extras are available except for a scene selection tool.

Most sequels either fail miserably at trying to “top” the recent (“Miss Congeniality 2″ springs to mind), or succeed beyond all expectations (“Star Slouch 2: The Wrath of Khan” is a great example) .

“Night at the Museum 2, The Battle of the Smithsonian” hits neither of these extremes: it has no pretensions about being a gargantuan film. It seems the writers and producers fair wanted to fabricate a film that their audience would bask in, and they succeeded. Certainly, the unique film was better and more novel in many respects, and there is lots of continuity with the first film, as many of the characters have returned. There are also some distinguished additions to the cast, such as Amy Adams – who is trustworthy as Amelia Earhart (as many of my fellow reviewers here have well-known) .

Yet, the scene stealer in the film though is not Ms. Adams, but Hank Azaria, who plays the Egyptian Pharaoh Kahmunrah: the foul and inept older brother of Ahkmenrah (the Pharaoh from the novel film) . Azaria’s Karloff-esque character is really well done. One of the best scenes in the film is when Kahmunrah and Ben Stiller’s character (Larry Daley) argue over the fate of Jedidiah (played by Owen Wilson) . I heard a rising tide of belly laughs all around me as this scene progressed: a salute to the venerable time vaudeville comedic dialog routines, played to reach perfection by two suited actors. Laurel and Hardy would have been proud!

Kudos to the Smithsonian for the unprecedented access and benefit they provided to the producers of this film. I’ve visited the Washington Mall and Smithsonian Museums many times, and it was gigantic to inspect them on the stout cloak, and vast fun seeing the havoc and mayhem that special effects allowed the film’s characters to inflict upon our national treasures.

I like this film because it is impartial with itself and its audience, and consistently delivers laughs and smiles. Is it a sizable film? No. Is it comic? Definitely. Is it a big method to employ a couple of hours with your better half, or the kids? Absolutely. For that reason I’ll give it Four Stars: savor!

Finally, a movie all ages can like. And please catch trace, Hollywood — yes, it can be done without swearing, sex or violence. Clever dialog, grand acting and effects. We’re all waiting for it to arrive out on video. We would even have taken the kids to peep it again if the theater experience wasn’t so expensive. One of the only criticisms is that we would have liked to have seen more of Robin Williams character. Rest assured, this is one movie that won’t leave you jimmy-jacked!

I conception this was a substantial documentary, originally released in 1971, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, and Narrated by Orson Welles. This documentary aired on TCM in 2006 and the viewers went CRAZY, it was #5 or #6 on their list of films most requested to be on DVD. I recorded it on VHS befriend in ‘06, and will be buying this commercial release in September. This documentary has interviews with John Ford (Of Uncouth), John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg… (Eastwood, Scorsese, and Speilberg’s interviews were added in 2006 when Bogdanovich re-cut it, along with some other footage that was not in the recent 1971 release.) I don’t suggest this documentary for everyone, if you are an avid movie fan (Like Me) who enjoys seeing people contemplate on their careers and other stars telling stories about things that happened on movie sets then you’ll esteem it as I do, but if you aren’t alive to in such types of documentaries than this is not for you. Also, if you are a Large John Ford fan notice out Mr. Ford’s AFI Salute (Only on VHS at this time) .

I last saw this film 30 years ago, and it left such an impression on me, it has been at the top of my “Why isn’t this on video? ” list ever since. In a procedure, I’m jubilant I missed seeing it on TCM–on DVD, the re-edit of the unique plus the improved quality of the clips makes it like meeting an weak like and finding her more blooming than ever.

Even for those not fully convinced of Ford’s genius, this documentary is a famous primer on how to understand film art. It is also a fair example of film art in its enjoy apt.

The epic revolves around Roddy (Hugh Jackman), a family pet who gets flushed into the sewers of London by an unwelcome guest named Sid (Shane Richie) . Sid takes over the world “up there” while Roddy is left to fight for his life in the seedy underbelly of London’s sewers. In all actuality, though, life in the sewers isn’t too terribly dreadful. When Roddy arrives there, he finds a approach replica of London fleshy of busy streets and shops. He decides that he must secure home, and seeks out the back of Rita (Kate Winslet), a female rat who’s known for shady dealings. On her tail (pun intended) are the goons of The Toad (Sir Ian McKellan), who says that a ruby he owned which fell from the crown of either Prince Charles or the Queen (I don’t remember which) was stolen by her and he wants it assist. Of course Roddy thinks that by assisting him in finding the ruby, he’ll obtain abet in return to gather attend home. What he gets instead is more anguish when Rita steals something else from The Toad.

The thunder talents are fantastic. Jackman, Winslet, McKellan and Reno all do amazing jobs. Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in “Lord of the Rings” and did a lot of the physical movements of Kong in Peter Jackson’s “King Kong,” plays one of The Toad’s henchmen along with Bill Nighy, current of the latest “Pirate’s of the Caribbean” flick.

The humor is, as expected, well grounded in British comedy and uses slapstick at will to enduce laughter from children. There are plenty of crotch injuries, one fart joke, and a few pokes at stereotypical Americans and the French. It’s all done with capable intentions and there’s nothing really offensive here.

It will beget the attention of both young and extinct, but children will probably devour it more than adults. I enjoyed it but I have a tendency to be pleased amusing children’s flicks like this. I’m also a fan of Aardman’s other work, so perhaps I’m a diminutive biased. Rest assured that whenever it leaves the theaters and eventually hits the DVD rack, I’ll be one of the first to seize it for myself and my family.

The first two reviews pleasing well summed up this grand movie! Humorous, speedy paced and lots of in jokes, past film references, spy gags from other Aardman films, a qualified record and was well executed!

I highly recommend this movie if you adore “Chicken Hasten”, and “Wallace & Gromit”. If you have not seen any of Aardmans other shows/movies you will miss a few discover gags, but that is certionly no reason not to explore this! So in the end; This movie is a must peep and definitely fun for the whole family.

I guess I must be the oddball that thinks that Robotech Masters/Southern Detestable was the better of the two post-Macross series — It is in this reviewer’s understanding, that Current Generation was indubitably the worst season of Robotech. Though there are some superb aspects of Recent Generation, these have already been covered by others and so the reviewer will focus on what are deemed to be the dreadful things about Novel Generation that some fans tend to sidestep.

New Generation picks up where Robotech Masters left off, with the Invid invading the Earth after having detected the presence of their precious Flower of Life upon conclusion of the Second Robotech War. A returning allotment of the Robotech Expeditionary Posthaste (Carelessly called “Mars Disagreeable” although this speedy was returning from the homeworld of the Robotech Masters, not Mars..An editing mistake never rectified) is all but annnihilated– keep for one survivor– Scott Bernard, who undergoes a series of adventures with his growing band of resistance fighters in a quest to slay the Invid headquarters, Reflex Point.

I was extremely furious about the post-apocalyptic feel about this and the different tone this was going to purchase from its predecessors, but the execution was botched up. For starters, even though some fans say that this series has a “expedient storyline,” unlike the other two seasons which had an ongoing storyline with each episode building up from the one before it, Current Generation took a worthy more episodic advance, particularly in the first half. Many of the episodes were characterized by adventures clear enough from one another that they that could have been re-arranged in any order without deleterious accomplish on the overall storyline. i.e. It was not considerable to explore Episode B before C since none of the events in B had any bearing on C, and vice-versa. In this reviewer’s thought, episodicity may be effective for casual Saturday Morning cartoon viewers, but not for getting absorbed into a long, evolved and rich anecdote.

In addition, the first half of the third season was marred by excessive repetition in that most of the episodes had a predictable formula: The heroes would overcome some predicament and be attacked by yet ANOTHER random patrol of Invid advance the demolish of the half-hour. This same formula was staple for the first 14 episodes or so, with few exceptions. This really accentuated the aforementioned episodic feel of this season. As a result, this repetition and lack of a continuous story-arc made Novel Gen feel more like a Saturday Morning cartoon akin to Voltron (nothing against Voltron, objective not Robotech) than to the first two Robotech seasons. Like Voltron, most of the first approx. 14 episodes of Unique Gen were characterized by episodicity and a climactic (although predictable) spacious battle advance the episode’s destroy. It didn’t back that Lunk looked a lot like Hunk from Voltron, but I digress.

The above mentioned episodicity quandary of Recent Gen would have been more luscious had the Invid side of the conflict been better presented (like they were in Macross or Southern Infamous) . Unfortunately, although there is some focus on the band of freedom fighters, the Invid are mysterously left in the background, only manifesting themselves as a random patrol of adversaries that the heroes dispatch without distinguished effort at the ruin of many of the episodes. For most of Modern Generation, there is very itsy-bitsy showing the Invid side of the conflict– their thoughts, motivations, fears, plans..etc. It didn’t serve that many of the episodes had dinky to do with the Invid (except with that random and predictable battle approach the episode’s extinguish), as the challenges the freedom fighters faced often had to do with other outside forces such as thugs, substandard businessmen, unpleasant weather..etc. Interestingly, this is in moving incompatibility to both Macross saga and the much-maligned Robotech Masters, where the enemy side of the conflict was a immense focus of both.

Another thing that bugged me about this third season was the unsatisfactory resolution of some episodes. This may be a consequence of the episodic format of Unique Generation making it difficult for unresolved adventures to continue on over into subsequent episodes. Case in point was the ending of the episode where Rook defeats a rival gang and along with Rand meets up with her mom that she hadn’t seen in a long time. Rand explains that he had already spoken with her mom, although the episode never shows this- it was done tedious the scenes. Her mom had never been mentioned up to that point nor was there any evidence in the episode that Rook was looking for her mom. Inexplicably, without her mom ever saying a word, the reunion doesn’t even last 10 seconds before Rook inexplicably takes off leaving her mom unhurried. She mentions something about thinking her mom was disappointed in what she had become but the character development in that sequence fell flat and the viewer is left thinking that there could have been worthy more. Again, there were many instances like this throughout the series with unresolved record arcs, crop corners, and missed opportunities for character development.

The first 14 episodes were so repetitive and episodic that by the time that the storyline picked up in the last 12 episodes or so, it was too exiguous too behind. Regardless, both the character development and account improved considerably in the second half. Around this point the mystery surrounding the simulagent, Ariel, and her visions kick into play,as she plays a key portion in unraveling (finally) some of the Invid plans. Other standout moments include Sera developing human emotions and beginning to ask the Invid ways, Lunk’s breakdown setting off a temporary disband of some members, and Rook/Rand’s relationship beginning to purchase off. Unfortunately, I salvage Annie to be more annoying than Lynn Minmei can ever hope to be and easily wins the coveted honor of “The Jar Jar Binks of Robotech” for me. I unbiased found it so fabulous that the band would let this runt, annoying girl with no combat usefulness whatsoever trace along on so many unsafe adventures. It would have been the equivalent of Minmei joining the Skull Squadron, failing to shoot down more than one enemy plane, yet somehow surviving all the missions! I understand Annie was meant to be silly relief, but Macross and Southern Infamous did without such a character.

Other things that made me cringe about Original Generation was that many of the actions scenes were cinematic to the point of incredulity. In Star Wars, stormtroopers could be shooting the heroes in dumb discover and miss them utterly. Well, Modern Gen took this principle to unusual heights. There were many, many embarrassing sequences like this but I will picture here one in particular. In one of the first episodes, Rand had turned on his protoculture-powered blaster and alerted nearby Invid of their station. The Invid had the heroes surrounded and were shooting at them at *close range* in a clearing(of course Annie was impartial doing nothing), and the blasts would continually go past the heroes’ shoulders while they were turned away from the blasts, having a chunky conversation to boot, and ignoring the enemy fire! At least in Macross and Southern Irascible, targets made attempts to avoid enemy fire, whereas in Unique Gen, enemy fire would continually miss even though the target would not even try to regain out of the arrangement! This can only be attributed to really sluggish animation.

As distinguished as I absolutely admire The Robotech music, I am of the view that this differently-flavored chapter could have been given a few tunes that better described its post-apocalyptic feel. Serene, the basic Robotech music works well unprejudiced not as well as it does with the first two chapters.

Although Current Generation is the worst of the three Robotech seasons, it is level-headed a crucial fragment of the saga, particularly, if one wishes to be up to date with the latest project (Shadow Chronicles) and any subsequent ones.

New Generation is actually worth closer to 3.5 stars, but due to the reviewer’s plan that the average reviews for this share of the saga are significantly inflated (as high as Macross??? WHAT?!), he gives Unique Generation 2 stars.

My kids ages 10 and 6 Savor this video–especially my six yr faded son. We borrowed this from our local library months ago and my son recites the Teeny-tiny and the Witch Woman anecdote all the time. I finally decided to order our contain copy and he is thrilled! It is the sweetest video. Very grand tale telling. I highly recommend this astronomical video for your family.
